Razer Phone 2 SD problem

I bought Samsung 128 GB EVO Plus CLass 10 Micro SDXC. When I first installed into the phone it told me it was incompatible with device. I proceeded to go to setting -> storage and format it there as internal storage. After it was done it came back as 131 GB used of 256 GB without transferring any storage. I proceeded to change the format to portable and it came back as 128 GB free of 128 GB. I'm new to android and liking the phone so far, Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    It's a problem with 8.1 and formating the SD card to count as internal memory. If you format it as a removable media then it will have it's proper size. My LGG6 had the same issue as the Razer phone 2 I have. Might be a work around, I haven't looked for a while.

    To clarify my question should I leave it as an internal format or is it better to go portable format? Like I said new to Android

    It depends. If you constantly take it out of the phone to transfer files or use it on another device, then keep it portable. But if you don't plan on doing any of that, then it would run smoother as an internal format.

    keep it external until 9.0 comes out then try it again. It's an 8.1 issue, across multiple phone platforms

    Ok so I've done the update and formatted to internal and still getting the same result.

    Dang, I haven't tried to reformat mine yet. When I was reading xda about the LG G6 running 8.1 it had been fixed once they side loaded 9.0. Hopefully Razer will chime in soon

    Any new info regarding the samsung Evo sd cards. The card I purchased is linked below. When trying to format as internal memory, I get an alert for slow SD card, when I check storage it says 115gb/256gb is used. Works fine as external SD card.
