Razer Ring Light not working

Hi. I am reaching out regarding an issue with my Razer Ring Light, which stopped working after a few months of use. A year later, I finally had the chance to investigate the problem. After removing the light diffuser, the lamp magically started working again, but a week later, it stopped turning on once more.

I’ve tried connecting it to different power sources, but the result is always the same. Using a multimeter, I confirmed that all wires are conducting properly and that the controller board with the buttons is receiving a stable voltage of 10V. However, the LED indicator next to the power button does not light up. Also there are no visible damaged spots on the board. When I short the black wire at the board's input with the black wire at the output, the light ring turns on, so the ring with LEDs itself seems to be in working state.

Maybe there will be some recommendations on what could be done to resolve this problem? Alternatively, is it possible to replace the control board (PM-HRS202011_V1.2)?

Came here to comment that I am experiencing the same issue, though mine did not fix itself when removing the diffuser. In my case, the indicator light on the controller isn’t turning on either, but despite all of the pins and wires everywhere appearing to be in the correct place…. nothing. Just completely dead. I have had other ring lights that dim over time, but this one just completely pooped out on me and I’m kind of at a loss of what to do.

It’s a defective product, and Razer is knowingly selling them with the knowledge that they are pieces of trash. I bought one and this happened after unplugging it and trying to plug it in elsewhere. This was within a week of owning it. RMA’d and got a new one. Sure enough, I unplug it to move to another room and it happens again. Now outside of warranty so Razer basically tells me too bad. Looking around online, this is a major issue and there’s no way Razer is unaware of it, but they don’t care. Screw the consumer, take their money.

Avoid Razer like the plague. They are absolute garbage and you will get ripped off. Tell everyone you know to stop buying their trash.
