My friend sent me the invite link to the squad, but even though there are only 3 people it says there are 4 and does not let me join. help??

We assume someone has joined your friends' squad before you join it. That is why you see there are only 3 people while it notices you that there are 4 when you join it.
If your friend is the squad leader, please talk with him and let him know the situation. He can kick out a squad member and let you in if he is willing to do so.
