Hello everyone,
I’ve been experiencing a serious issue with Razer Surround 7.1 on Windows 11 that started around October 2.
The software works perfectly in every game and environment except Fortnite. In Fortnite, the virtual 7.1 audio becomes distorted — front and center channels are missing or muffled, while left and right channels work normally.
Here are some details that may help:
Tested with Razer Kraken and Razer BlackShark headsets (both wired).
Razer Surround Sound is correctly set as the default playback device in Windows.
In Warzone and Rocket League, the surround effect works perfectly — only Fortnite has this issue.
The problem started after a clean Windows reinstall on October
I have verified all drivers (Realtek, Razer, Windows) and even reinstalled Razer Surround several times.
THX Spatial Audio also produces the same distortion when tested in Fortnite, which might indicate a driver compatibility problem.
Based on online reports, other users seem to experience similar behavior recently, suggesting a possible conflict between Razer virtual audio driver and Fortnite’s latest audio engine update.
i also asked Fortnite but they Didnt help
Could you please check if this issue is known or if there’s any workaround or older Razer Surround version that still works properly with Fortnite?
I’d really appreciate any help or technical insight you can provide
Best regards
