So I purchased this headset and I find out the day after I get it that your software to configure it doesn’t even support, detect or otherwise work with it? This is the new version, not analog headset and you can’t even configure any sort of surround sound which is what it’s supposed to do?

VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR BUYERS
1. You need to get the Synapse software from Razer in order to really use the headset and get GOOD quality sound out of it

2. YOU HAVE TO PLUG IT IN TO YOUR PC WITH THE PROVIDED USB CABLE FOR THE SYNAPSE SOFTWARE TO DETECT YOUR HEADSET - THIS IS A MUST WHEN YOU GO TO CONFIGURE IT. I tried just a generic USB A to USB C cable and it wouldn’t detect the headset. I used the one that came with the headset and it was fine. Poor quality cables are going to be a toss up if it is detected or not.

3. It appears whatever configurations you do in the Synapse software get copied to the headset maybe? It appears once you configure it the configuration still applies when you are using it over the wifi dongle or bluetooth

4. Bluetooth works just as well as the wifi dongle, so if your PC has bluetooth (and a newer version like 6) you're fine not using the wifi dongle or USB cable

5. In order to use the headset with the 7.1 surround sound you need Synapse and you need to install the 7.1 Surround software for Synapse - DO NOT INSTALL THE THX SPATIAL AUDIO, THX IS NOT THE RIGHT MODULE

6. You MUST register the headset on the Razer website and wait maybe 20-30 minutes for the confirmation email. You should also get a product key for the 7.1 Surround software module for Synapse around the same time. Wait for the emails before you try to do anything with the headset

The above notes should get you through setup and activation with little frustration, I spent an hour trying to figure it out and almost just returned it to Amazon.

I figured it out, nevermind. You have to actually plug it in to your PC to be able to get Synapse 4 to detect it, it won’t detect the headset while wireless/bluetooth. After connecting it you can configure it and it appears the configuration will still apply while using wirelessly.
