When I have Razer Synapse installed and start Stellaris, it goes to the splash screen and crashes in about 1 second.  I have to uninstall Razer Synapse and game operates properly.

I have Stellaris through GOG which directs me to the Paradox launcher. I have all expansions. I have no mods. 

My system is AMC Ryzen 5 3600, X570 Phantom Gaming 4S Motherboard, 32 GB RAM, AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT
