Razer Synapse Profile Sync is a mess

Hi Guys,

So here is the situation. I use my Basilisk V3 Pro on my PC and on my laptop, both of them have Razer Synapse 3 installed. I created 3 different profiles, with modified keys, macros and such. However anytime if I use my other device Razer Synapse just keeps warning me that the cloud informations are different from my local one. There would be no issue with this at all. I just keep in mind that for example my most recent settings are done on PC, so cloud data is the PC one, so if I’m using my laptop and the window pops up I just chose the Cloud option and download the newest settings.

However when I do this, sometimes Synapse don’t even downloads these profiles, in fact creating a totally random profile, named “Quickprofile” or something like that, which is gettint extremely annoying at this point.

So the question is how can I resolve this? How can I use these profiles on both machines without the need to sync everytime? Why can’t Synapse just sync the cloud data correctly? Or why don’t have the option to completely turn off the sync possibility and just use local settings on each of our devices totally separated from the cloud?

Oh and one extra thing, these profiles are also saved to the mouse’s onboard memory. But when I’m on my laptop and the sync warning pops up, and I choose either of it, Synapse is not able to see the onboard profiles for some reason, not until I restart my laptop at least, which is kinda frustrating when I’m in the middle of a work or something and I just want to switch between PC and laptop with my mouse.

Thanks in advance!

For reference here is a screensot of the warning popup.

I am having the same issue with my Naga V2 Pro, did you manage to find a fix for this?

Yes. Why do I have to almost daily tell to either use local or cloud settings? It messes with my gameplay. Almost every day for like 2,5 months!!! Where is the save button after I have configured my keyboard, headset and mic, mouse?

I shouldnt have to reconfigure almost every day, should I?

No sadly. I haven’t found any solution, not even a workaround. Beside the on-board saving, at least I don’t loose my set upped settings and macros on my mouse. :D But everytime I switch to my laptop, work a bit on it, then switch back to PC and I get the notification, and the random ‘quickprofile” creations. Sometimes even multiple ones. Quite annoying.

I have the same problem, I keep clicking on the CLOUD button but even if I don’t edit anything everytime I open Synapse it keeps asking me that things.

I've been using Synapse3 for 3 days and I never had the amount of issues, problems, bugs I had with this. I only have a Tartarus Pro and I don’t think I’ll buy other Razer peripherals until I’m sure the software is stable. I hope the new version will be better than this mess.

I have 2 PCs with Synapse 3 logged-in, each PC having separate profile for my Basilisk v3 mouse and DeathAdder v3 mouse.

Synapse 3 profile sync is NOT working correctly, profiles aren’t saved to cloud, sync creates trash profiles, duplicates, constantly erasing my configuration.

The worst part is that in Synapse 3 there is no option to TURN OFF CLOUD SYNC.

It is broken now, I want to be able to turn it off until you make it work!

I have been making changes and backing up my profiles manually, and am getting infinite sync loop with my Naga V2 Pro after getting the Sync Warning. Normally I go with the “Local” option and it takes less than 20 seconds.

EDIT: I rebooted my computer, it worked. Doh!

Still no resolution for this I assume? It is driving me crazy.

Bump, just bought basilisk v3 yesterday. Thags my only razer and only device that can be connected with chroma beta. And i only have one laptop for this as well yet i get this. I chose local but stkll gives me the same problem so i chose cloud but still pops up. And chroma bugs it wont open sometimes

Yep, Razer Synapse is garbage. I cannot have Synapse running or it will prompt me for the sync or just grab focus of Windows - incredibly annoying while in a game. I love the feel of the deathadder, but having this problem for years with different devices and PCs, it’ll be the last.

I have had absolutely no issues with my Goliathus Extended Chroma, Mamba elite, huntsman elite, + older products in relation to lighting/physical function.  Over the course of years.  life throws curveballs

i wasn’t ready for this twist in my aesthetic experience while sitting at my spaceship

That being said, currently trying to isolate the specific variable of a before/after started happening

but recently updated latest windows 11 pro
no issues with pc/power
did not tinker too hard with anything (related to isolating if i messed up somewhere)

mousemat LEDs start going nuts randomly, nothing stood out as irregular which could cause, no issues with conflicting software, even once, heavy usage daily for quite some time

i do be wondering bc those lights were pretty and i need that so all insight would be glorious @ razer @ razer @ razer @hey

love you

I have had this profile sync issue for months now. I wish there was a feature that could disable the whole cloud sync because it has never properly worked for me. I recognize the same annoyances as others have described here.

If Bloxstrap isn’t installing, try restarting your system or disabling antivirus temporarily, similar to troubleshooting Razer Synapse profile sync issues.

Why is this still an issue with 0 solution from Razer ?

The incompetence is staggering when this problem appears all over the internet and 0 fix or even guideline to disable sync is proposed.

I had the very first razer mouse they produced and gave them a chance 20 years later and … won’t be fooled again.

I have the exact same issue with my razer naga. My heart dropped when I read the age of this thread - meaning the issue has been ignored by razer and never will be fixed.

Peripherlas are unusable between two computers. Tt’s not just that the profiles disappear, this “quick profile” synapse creates has 1600 dpi, twice the speed of what I normally use.

WHY DOES THE CLOUD SYNC EVEN EXIST 🤣it is idiotic… has synapse ever even been tested by anyone?

But sometimes it just randomly decides to work after multiple computer reboots, synapse restarts, and switching between computers.

I can’t use onboard memory because it will not allow keyboard modifiers when assigning “keyboard function” on a mouse. It will save it and seem fine but as soon as you reconnect it the “Ctrl” in “Ctrl+F5” will disappear… 😡 just bugs ontop of bugs making these products unsuable. Someone above said incompetency and I can’t help but agree.

Just had this issue myself razer prompted that my Cloud Settings didn't match my Local Settings. Clicked to sync to local. Next minute my GPU  (4060ti) is acting crazy. Fans speeding up, couldn't display games correctly. Certain apps wouldn't open like browser and EA. Messing up the multiple monitors. I've had.to reset my computer and re download certain games/apps as steam was saying they were corrupted! It's been a right farse. Never had any issues with my mid range system at all until that prompt.

Windows 11

Nvidia 4060ti

Same issue but for me its a life saver, the sync often buggs out and wipes over the wrong profile.

Can us using profile 1 for application A, swap to App B and if it starts a sync at the wrong moment it replaces App B’s profile with that of profile 1, drives me crazy so it bricking and not doing anything is at least stopping that from happening. there should just be an option to say I dont want to store my profile online if I have no use for it.

It has become very apparent to me that Razer is terrible when it comes to it programs.  I first transitiioned from Logitech because their software was awful.  While, this software is better, it still sucks.  Issues with profile saving, game linking, default profiles and syncing are just basic features that should have been considered first in their programing flow chart.

Responses from them on forum is awful also.  I see more threads locked with horrible “fixes” from them.

so annoying, just happened to me, said my local settings differ from cloud and gave me a choice what to pick… chosen the wrong option obviously as now all my settings and macros assigned to my mouse buttons have dissapeared… arghhh.

Have a similar issue, no matter which option I pick local or cloud it just keeps asking me. If I press ask me later it asks me every 10 seconds.

At least give us the option to disable sync entirely, this is ridiculous!

I have bought three Razer products in the past weeks, a Huntsman V3 Pro TKL, a Viper V3 Pro and a Aether Monitor Light Bar. Everytime I reboot my PC Synapse 4 loses track of the profiles I have created and resets some of the features here and there, without any clear reason. While I notice the syncing to happen (and I make sure the loading process finishes so that the sync is in principle complete), it also asks me from time to time (not at every system reboot though) whether I want to use local settings or cloud settings. Occasionally it also gives me sync conflict message, again for no reason given that I am only using these devices on one single computer.
This is already becoming very annoying and I am surprised that such a high level gear, expensive, and with an apparently sophisticated software support, is failing so badly in this aspect.

I will probably contact Razer support in some way. This is 100% a software problem that should be fixed with some update. But how long will Razer take to overcome this?
I hope someone can reply!

Got the same problem. I just keep clicking on the close button “X” till it doesn’t show up anymore. Most of the time my settings stay the same that way, but sadly not always.

This happens to me constantly. I have found two options to make the syncing issue less painful, but there really needs to be a fix for these syncing errors by Razer.

Option 1: I export all my profiles to my personal Google Drive. Whenever there is a syncing issue, I import my profile and am up and running relatively quickly.

Option 2: Open task manager and end all Razer Synapse tasks, including background processes. Next, I relaunch Synapse and check to see if the profiles are correct, which they usually are. I delete the quickstart profile and go from there.

Both options take roughly the same amount of time. All this said, this really needs a better fix from Razer. It drives me nuts that I have to do this at least 2-3 times a week.
