Razer Thresher 7.1 for PS4 - MIC creating constant loud noise | Razer Insider
Skip to main content
I've seen this post before, but since it's been a while that it has been posted so I vcan't reply to it. I wonder if someone can help me.

This was the original post:

Switched on my headset today and got a very load constant noise from in my ears - sounds like a motor boat chugging along. When I mute the mic it goes. After server power reset the noise is not fed to my ear pieces (when muted and not muted) but when I unmute other gamers can hear the noise. I've followed the firmware update - it was up to date as only a few months old. Any ideas on a reset / fix?

I've put the head phone on my laptop and get the same as when on PS4 so it is a headset issue.

I haven't used the Thresher 7.1 for a long time, but I've been unhappy with the sound of the PS5 3D headset, so I decided to switch back to my Razer Thresher 7.1. I have this exact issue, even on PC when turning the mic on. When he mic is off, the sound seems to disappear. When joining a party on the PS5, even with the mic turned off, my partymembers complain that they hear a helicopter sound and can't hear my voice at all.

I've tried the troubleshooter as indicated on your website and video. I've tried installing Synapse, but it's not possible to add my headset as a device because the serialnumber seems to be incorrect (it starts with a RC in stead of RZ. Maybe the headset is too old?). I've had this headset since 2019.. If there is an easy fix then please let me know. Otherwise I'll accept this issue and only use the Thresher for single player games only.

Thank you in advance!
