Razer Viper 8K Wheel unreliable


I am having a problem with the wheel. When I scroll down, sometimes it will scroll up. In a webpage I will be scrolling down to the bottom of a page and it will scroll down a few lines and then up a few lines and then continue down a few lines. Or the revers, scroll up. This is happens at any speed of scrolling. I can do 1 click at a time down and then it will scroll up a few lines and then continue scrolling down.

In a game map that zooms in and out with the mousewheel, I may try to zoom out for example and it will do zoom out, out, out, in, out, in, out, out, out, in, in, out in a random fashion. It happens in both directions of the wheel, at all scrolling speeds, and at any polling rate in the Synapse app.

It happens with the Synapse software running or not running

Try cleaning the scroll wheel encoder by spraying air inside the mouse.
If it'll not help only disassembly and manual clean or RMA if you have warranty for it.
Tks, I did the air thing to no avail. I'll go through the RMA process now.
ngl I have the same issue with my mamba elite and my keyboard (with the volume wheel) and was thinking about buying the viper 8k. Is it a mouse thing or razer thing? I haven't tried other brands so IDK much

This is highly likely a hardware problem. I can start a case and forward it to the RMA Team for a replacement request. Just PM me the serial number and share a copy of your receipt so I can validate its warranty.
