Razer viper mini scrolling wheel Problem.

It's been a couple months since I bought the Viper mini. At first, I thought it was a Windows driver issue and that it would be fixed if I updated my drivers. But after 2 months it still has the same issue, it had on the first day of purchase, when I scroll up it scrolls up down up down and same when I scroll down. It seems the scroll wheel is faulty. Many other people have had this same exact issue on online forums.
What should I do now…??? Is there any way to fix the scroller…??? Or is there any option the buy a new scroller…???

If you still have valid warranty - RMA it. But be aware, that Viper Mini is no longer produced, so you might get different mouse / cash back if the shop doesn’t have it on stock.

Otherwise you can buy a new scroll encoder.

There is 2-step fix (without opening the mouse) for common issues with scroll wheel. Step 2 is the main reason, learned from a reddit comment, linked below. It worked for me, might work for you as well (unless the mouse is very old, filthy, damaged from violent shaking/ smashing). [Step 1] Blow air (with your mouth) through the side gaps of the scroll wheel, but pressurized air would work too. [Step 2] Invert your mouse top down, put the scroll wheel on the mouse pad, drag it forward a few times fast, drag it backward a few times fast. [Done] Now try scrolling in both directions to check for any involuntary reverse direction rotation/ stutter/ rubber banding/ accidental rotation from a slight touch/ sensor getting triggered from mouse movement/ scrolling not working at all.
