Razer viper mouse dropping sensitivity unintentionally

When I'm mid game, my mouse sensitivity tends to drop by almost half or down to a third for a few seconds at a time. I haven't been able to identify why that is. When alt-tabbing out of the game, my mouse continues to be at a lower sensitivity so it seems to be either windows or mouse specific. I've turned the DPI switch button to a different function, thinking I was pressing that accidentally, but that doesn't seem to be the issue. I'm using a Razer Viper with Windows 10. Thanks!

      Noone have this experience before? I've tried reinstalling synapse and resetting my mouse to default settings but nothing seems to fix this. Anyone know if there's a way to reinstall the firmware on the mouse?
