Razer viper mouse dropping sensitivity unintentionally

When I'm mid game, my mouse sensitivity tends to drop by almost half or down to a third for a few seconds at a time. I haven't been able to identify why that is. When alt-tabbing out of the game, my mouse continues to be at a lower sensitivity so it seems to be either windows or mouse specific.



I've turned the DPI switch button to a different function, thinking I was pressing that accidentally, but that doesn't seem to be the issue.



I'm using a Razer Viper with Windows 10.

I've tried reinstalling synapse and resetting my mouse to default settings but nothing seems to fix this.



Anyone know if there's a way to reinstall the firmware on the mouse?
