Out of the blue my Viper V2 Pro has just completely died.

I was using it normally one day, went to sleep, woke up and it seems to have just outright died for no reason.

No lights come on at all, holding the power button for 10 or more seconds does nothing, holding the left click, left click, and scroll wheel click down for 10 seconds does nothing. It does not show up in Synapse with the dongle, or with the cable directly to the mouse. I have tried blowing into the charging port of the mouse and it did nothing. I have tried using a different cable and it did nothing. I have tried multiple different USB ports on two different computers as well as using a USB wall charger to restore a charge. I have tried disassembling the mouse and removing the battery, which did nothing. As well as then plugging back in the battery, which changed nothing. I have tried some slight percussive maintenance to see if there was something loose and it has made no difference.

The only response I can get out of the mouse at this point is to plug it in, and hold down left click, right click, and scroll wheel click for about three seconds, and the PC will play the “usb connected” noise, but it does not show up in the device manager, it does not show up in synapse, and it does not light up or change in any noticeable way. If I then hold down the power button for a short time, it will also play the device disconnected noise, but again the PC, synapse, and mouse light show nothing.

Basically at a loss for what could have happened other than the mouse realizing that it has been out of warranty for six months and needed to die. Any help would be appreciated, but I don’t really know what else to try.

Thanks.

Nevermind, it fixed itself. I was complaining to friends about it while I had it plugged into my PC when all of the sudden, with no interaction from me, the LED lit up, windows played the connected device noise, and it showed back up in Synapse with 68% battery charge.

No clue what happened but hopefully this helps someone else because I sure don’t know what I did.
