Razer Viper V4 Pro – Mouse Not Charging After Troubleshooting

Hello,

My Razer Viper V4 Pro is not charging. I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps, but unfortunately, none have resolved the issue:

  1. Turned off the mouse and left it charging for at least 30 minutes.

  2. Tried different USB ports on my PC, including the rear motherboard ports, while avoiding USB hubs and front-panel connections.

  3. Closed Razer Synapse, restarted my PC, reopened Synapse, and checked whether the battery percentage changed.

  4. Connected the mouse to another computer to see if the battery level would increase.

  5. Verified that the mouse is running the latest available firmware.

Unfortunately, the mouse still does not appear to be charging.

Hi there!

Just wanted to say I'm experiencing almost exactly the same issue with my Viper V4 Pro, which I've owned since the end of August.

Mine has been charging perfectly fine up until around Wednesday–Friday last week, when it suddenly started struggling to charge at all. The mouse recognises it's connected to power, and the charging LED pulses amber, but the battery percentage barely moves.

I've tried multiple USB ports, different computers, several known-working cables and wall chargers, and even left it charging overnight for more than 10 hours without the LED progressing beyond amber.

I've also reduced the polling rate from 8000 Hz to 1000 Hz and performed a factory reset, but neither made any difference.

Interestingly, Synapse showed 36% battery earlier today, but after restarting the mouse, it suddenly dropped to 30%. It then took roughly 40 minutes just to reach 32%.

I'm beginning to wonder whether there's a firmware or battery management issue involved, particularly as mine was working absolutely fine until recently. I'm currently running firmware version 1.4.1.0.

I've raised a support case with Razer and am speaking with their technical support team about it. I've specifically asked whether they're aware of any similar reports or whether an official firmware recovery procedure is available.

Out of curiosity, was yours charging normally before this happened, and do you know which firmware version you're currently running?

I'll update this thread if Razer comes back with anything useful. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of it!
