This had already happen with another v4 mouse and they are both black but what happens is when i plug the usb in the mouse it sort of kills the mouse and dongle and doesn’t allow the mouse or dongle to work. For example when I had the first mouse it did the issue the same day where i plugged it into the usb and it killed the dongle and mouse from working and windows shows up a message saying usb unrecognized and i replaced it with another viper v4 mouse and it worked actually for a bit but then as of now i plugged it into to charge and it killed the dongle and mice which is so ridiculously annoying since it costs 160$ and i have to go through this problem TWICE.

Hi bizCordovancove871,

I’m here to assist you! I understand you’re having issues with the Razer Viper V4 Pro where plugging in the cable seems to kill both the mouse and the dongle, and Windows shows “USB device not recognized.” To help us isolate the problem, please share a bit more info:

  • Which version of Windows are you currently using (e.g., Windows 10/11, and is it 64-bit)?
  • Are you plugging the mouse directly into your PC’s USB port, or through a USB hub/adapter?
  • When Windows shows “USB device not recognized,” does it appear under Device Manager at all (even with a warning icon)?
  • Have you tried different USB ports or another PC, and does the same issue happen there too?

In the meantime, please try the following steps:

  1. Unplug the dongle and mouse cable from your PC.
  2. Restart your PC.
  3. Plug the mouse directly into a rear USB port on your motherboard (no hub or extender if possible).
  4. Make sure you have Razer Synapse installed and updated.
  5. Make sure to update your mouse firmware. There was a recent firmware release that may address connectivity/recognition issues. Follow the steps here: https://mysupport.razer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/20803/

After updating the firmware, test if the mouse and dongle are detected normally again. If you need further assistance, feel free to PM with your device serial number and your region so I can look into the options for you. All the best!
