Razer Wolverine Ultimate Do I need a new controller or wire?

Hello quick question... so my controller is having some of the following problems which all led to me not being able to use this controllers... 1)I plug it in then it color changing lights turn on but not the white light which indicates it is connected... I think. 2)The light just doesn't turn on. 3) the controller works!... for 20 seconds max Let me know if I can just get a new wire and be fine or if I need a new controller.
