I recently received my Razor Core X v2 and couple it with complete new purchased components:
Corsair RM750x (750Watt PSU - Probably overkill for what it’s worth)
Asus Geforce RTX 5070 ti 8GB (PRIME-RTX5060TI-O8G)
Once all the power was connected (Wall to PSU) PSU to Mainboard inside Razor Chasis and the GPU connected to the PCIe slot + 1*8 power Connector, I connected the USBC cable to my Thunderbolt 4/USB4 capable Lenovo Laptop and powered on the Razer Chassis, NOTHING! maybe a slight movement from the fan (like 1 8th turn).
Now if I disconnect the power and remove the GPU Power and the GPU and power on the Razer Chassis the Razor Core X v2 WILL POWER ON… and it delivers power to my laptop. (Yoga 7 2-in-1 14IML9 - Type 83DJ)
I’m taking the Razor X Core v2 to a friends place today to connect an older PCIe card to the PCIe slot to see if that makes any difference… if it powers on and we have power to the GPU I will continue troubleshooting to see if the Card was DOA by taking it to a Store on Monday (today is Sunday) to see if they can test the card in a Rig to see if it powers up.
However, I am fully suspecting the same NO POWER issue to occur with this alternate PCIe card test today and if so I think that concludes that the Razor Core X v2 has something wrong with it when it comes to the PCIe slot. Good thing is that I purchased the Razor Core X v2 through Amazon so can request a replacement unit this week PENDING test results.
I wanted to raise this case with support to understand your viewpoint on this issue and whether there might have been something obvious that I have missed or whether this unit might have suffered a fatal flaw and isn’t performing the way it should with all components and connectors attached.
