Out of the blue one day the microphone just isn't working or showing up on the device manager and I haven't been able to connect it to any usb ports. What can I do to fix it?

Thanks for alerting us about this. Is it possible for you to try it on a different PC just to check if the same issue persists? If it does, please send me a message via PM along with your device’s serial number so I can validate it in our database and check the warranty status.
