Resetting Win 11 on Razer laptop? | Razer Insider
Skip to main content
Hi guys,

Anyone able to reduce my anxiety, as I'm considering resetting my Windows 11 laptop, using the cloud download method, through system recovery.

I have a 2019 Razer 15 Studio, which has given me absolutely no hardware issues at all, but recently, I have had some software issues, and after some considerable work to resolve them, reluctantly decided to do a new Windows 11 repair instal. My concern surrounds missing something important before I commit. Will I need any specific information before I begin, like hardware names, serial numbers, etc., or will the process be somewhat semi-automatic, with me just pressing 'Enter', occasionally?

There doesn't appear to be any Windows key numbers on the laptop. Would that have been in the box, (if so that could be an expedition into the dark recess of the attic) or is anyone in Razer support able to quote me the number if I submit the laptop details? Or does anyone know if the process identifies the Windows key from the laptop as the download proceeds? Apologies if this is an issue that's cropped up before, but a search never brought up anything similar.

Thanks anyone in advance! 🙂

You can proceed with the update with ease. However, there are some instances that some users erase the recovery partition allotted in your Razer Blade 15's SSD, which the team does not recommend as it can corrupt the laptop drivers. I suggest creating a recovery stick for your unit by following the steps from this article, as this will serve as your failsafe during the software change. I’ll be locking this thread now.
