My Razor Laptop after turning on is displaying A secure boot violation and has locked me out of any settings I could go into to disable it. I have tried The factory reset it is prompting only for it to boot back up with the same issue.  I don’t understand really what the BIOS is or what’s going on if anyone is able to help please.

Hi Missy8,

I understand that your Razer Blade 15” Advanced (2018) is showing a Secure Boot violation message at startup and that you are unable to access the settings needed to disable it. Since the factory reset returns to the same issue, please try the steps below and let us know the result.

1. Get an empty USB thumb drive.
2. Enter your system BIOS/UEFI.
3. Disable Secure Boot.
4. Save and exit, then let the system power up into Windows.
5. Run Command Prompt as Administrator In a command window, copy the recovery app to the USB Thumb drive using the following commands (assuming the USB Thumb drive is the “D:” drive). Type each command separately and then press
Enter:
md D:\EFI\BOOT
copy C:\windows\boot\efi\securebootrecovery.efi D:\efi\boot\bootx64.efi
6. Enable secure boot in BIOS
7. Insert the flash drive, restart the device, press F12 and select boot from the flash drive.
8. Follow on screen instruction
After this, the issue should be resolved.

If the problem comes back after you disconnect the power adapter for more than ~20 seconds, it likely means the CMOS battery is no longer working and needs to be replaced.

All the best!
