Shutdown when unplug from the charger | Razer Insider

Hi everyone,

On July 27, 2023, I received a brand new Razer Book 13. On

that day I charged it for more than two hours according to the instructions and then

keeping it all the time plugged with the charger, I completed the Windows setup.

After finishing the setup I tested the battery, trying to start the laptop without the

charger. The computer did not start. I plugged in the charger and the laptop started

and worked fine. I followed the instructions for reinstalling the ACPI drivers through

the Device Manager and let the laptop charge for 8 hours while it was shut down.

Still the laptop did not start from the battery after this long period of charging. In

short the battery NEVER worked. After that I did not use the laptop until today

except to follow the instructions given to me by Razer in the meantime (eg video the problem).

On the next day, July 28, 2023, I wrote to Razer support.

Apart from greetings, nice and polite words I was passed from one person to the

next and from one team to another, giving each time my order number, the laptop

serial number, my name, my e-mail, the description of the problem and at some

point I also sent a video showing the problem. This lasted until August 12, 2023,

when the people from the RMA department informed me that

“...it seems that the issue you have reported on your Razer blade seems to be normal since you are using your Razer laptop for hours.

With this, we are unable to proceed with your replacement request. We highly suggest following some workaround on How to improve or extend the battery life of your Razer Blade here.”

Very convenient!

It seems that we have different definitions of what is a brand new product, what is a

battery that has NEVER worked, what is a right for refund, what is a warranty.

At this point I am at a dead end. I cannot return it and get a refund. The support

team does not take it back to repair it or replace it. I can’t open it and replace the

battery because I will lose the guarantee and even if I didn’t lose the guarantee it is

not certain if the problem is the battery or something else that is causing the battery

to fail. Nevertheless, I will use my imagination on how to extend the life of a battery

that is not working.

Do you have any further advice on how to resolve this issue?
