I formatted my computer, now I went to install the software for my kraken x and it won't allow me, as it has already been activated. Why wasn't my inner activation saved?

You mean the 7.1 surround? It’s not a bug. When you’ve entered code, it’ll be automatically assigned to your RazerID account.

You just need to login to your RazerID account, instead typing activation code (which is already used).

Please be informed that the activation code can only be used once, and it will be tied to your Razer ID. This allows you to install the app on any system and keep your license. Should the problem persist, please PM me the serial number so I can check for other model-specific solutions. All the best!
