[SOLVED] Razer Kraken V4 Pro Not Detected by Synapse / OLED Control Hub

Hey everyone,

I've been battling a frustrating issue with my Razer Kraken V4 Pro for the past days, and after trying every common troubleshooting step, I finally found the solution!

I wanted to share it immediately for anyone else experiencing similar problems, as it's easily overlooked.

My Problem:

  • My Razer Kraken V4 Pro headset was not being detected by Razer Synapse, showing as "off or not connected with a red icon" in the Synapse interface.

  • The OLED display on the headset was on, but showed no sound information or proper connection status.

  • When powering on the headset, it would say "Power on, pairing..." but never actually connect wirelessly to my PC for audio/full functionality.

  • Basic audio worked when connected directly via the USB cable, but not wireless functionality.

  • Synapse would even sometimes say "pairing successful" from the pairing utility, but the headset still wouldn't work wirelessly.

What I Tried (and didn't work):

  • Restarting my PC multiple times.

  • Trying different USB ports for the control hub.

  • Performing multiple clean reinstallations of Razer Synapse.

  • Updating headset and control hub firmware.

  • Checking Windows Device Manager for errors.

THE SOLUTION:

It turns out the headset was simply set to the wrong connection mode via the Multifunction Button (E)

(located on the left earcup, as per the device layout).

  1. Locate the Multifunction Button (E) on your Kraken V4 Pro.

  2. Double-click this button repeatedly until you cycle through the connection modes and hear the voice prompt confirm: "3. HyperSpeed Wireless."

    • The modes typically cycle as: 1. Bluetooth -> 2. Simultaneous Audio -> 3. HyperSpeed Wireless.

  3. Once it announces "HyperSpeed Wireless," your headset should then correctly connect to the control hub, be detected by Razer Synapse, and the OLED display should show the correct connection and audio information!

Why this was so hard to find: This is a small setting on the headset itself that isn't typically covered in general Synapse or PC troubleshooting. It's easy to accidentally click, or perhaps a firmware update might have defaulted it.

I hope this helps someone else avoid the frustration I went through! Happy gaming!

This is weird, because my Synapse system shows my Kraken V4 always off when I’m connected via HSW, but once I connect it to a USB cable, it is on and I can change the light settings and so on.

Not sure what is going on here.

I just bought a pair yesterday. updated the firmware for everything all across the board, and synapse is doing the same exact thing to me. Its so ridiculous, every iteration of the kraken headsets seems to have this issue and will randomly fix itself only to break on the next update.

To anyone also having the same issue here,

Go to this reddit post.

It was a god damn lifesaver for me .

What you basically need ot do is puyt the headset into 2.4ghz mode and at the same time unplug and replug the oied unit and it should work.

I JUST got mine back in from replacement yesterday and this is happening once I updated the firmware. WHY is this happening? It’s unbelievably frustrating. This solution didn’t help at all. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Okay, so I toyed around with support, and then saw on synapse (once my headset was plugged into the pc) that if you set the headset to hyperspeed wireless, then disconnect the OLED hub, and reconnect it, it should connect back. Mine did. However the Microphone was extremely low and I had to turn it up, like a LOT. Hope this helps everyone. So frustrating.

Found this just there and hopefully this helps.

Really though they need ot get a grip on there software,it is just awful.

This should not be happening considdering the price of the headset.

It’s beyond ridiculous.

This did fix my problem and thank you however, It still says offline all the time. Some guy said he can plug it in and edit stuff like that but its crazy how this is still a problem and they still have  not fixed it.
