[SOLVED - UNIT WAS DEFECTIVE] Mamba Elite seems dimmer than old Mamba TE. Defective unit or normal? | Razer Insider

Hey!

So, my Mamba TE was getting a bit old so I got a Mamba Elite to make use of that better sensor and tiny improvements.

But upon opening it up and testing it side-by-side, I can see that the LEDs (in general, but especially in the side strip) are much dimmer in the Elite.

Seems like the Elite at 100% brightness is roughly equivalent to the TE at 50% brightness.

I have an album that somewhat captured the difference: https://imgur.com/a/QSKweEL

What I want to check is if that's normal, or if I have a defective unit.

If it's normal - fine. I'll keep it and all's well. If it's a defective unit, I'll return it while the return window is still open.

Thanks!

Hi there! Thanks for your interest in our products. Does the behavior happen while connecting only the Razer Mamba Elite? Ensure that the device is connected directly to your computer's USB port, not to a USB hub. Please reset the mouse by clicking the gear icon at the top-right corner of the Razer Synapse 3.0 and see if it helps.

Hey! I tried resetting and nothing changed, the device is still noticeably darker than my old Mamba TE. (with both at 100% brightness)

It's connected to a direct USB port, and I tried removing the other devices but the behaviour remains. I've connected it to two other computers as well.
UPDATE: Unit was defective. I got another Mamba Elite and the brightness of the LEDs is exactly the same as my old Mamba TE. I'll return the first defective Mamba Elite.
