SOUND ISSUE - Razer Blade 15 (2023)

Hello all!

I am fairly disappointed with razer., their customer support and their product. I bought the Razer Blade 15 around a year ago (2023) and now I am faced with a bug. Whenever I play a video on streaming sites like youTube or Crunchyroll the sound progressively gets quieter and quieter to the point where eventually no sound comes out of the speakers. I have tried with other output devices such as headphones and external speakers and the sound is perfect its an issue with the device itself. The only way to get the sound back is by restarting my laptop and as soon as I play another the video the bug occurs again.

Furthermore, I am extremely frustrated due to razer’s lack of customer support. I live outside of the US (the UK) and razer has no email or phone number to call. It is infuriating because the only thing I can do is send my laptop to the store but then its a whole process! It would be so nice to talk to a human rather than having to back up all my data etc and ship it out OR spending so much time hoping and waiting for an answer on a forum! So disappointed with Razer and I really do hope the company gets back to me because this is getting comical now.

Thanks?

Hi!

I have exact same laptop model (Blade 15 2023), and almost the same issue, which I have faced for quite a long time. For me it was that my left speaker gets quieter, until it stops produce sound at all, and the only fix that worked for me was fresh Windows 11 reinstall, however the problem came back eventually)

Today I tried messing around with sound drivers for a bit, and it actually worked with no reinstall! Here I can try listing the things that I have done, tho i’m not sure if the steps sequence is exact, so u are free to experiment.

Open the Device Manager, in the “View” select “Devices by driver”. Then look for the audio icons, the ones that can reveal a list of drivers. I worked with “Realtek(R) Audio” (oem39) and (oem45) “Realtek Audio Effects Component”,  “Realtek Audio Effects Component (INT)”.

Steps I tried:

  • Selecting “oem45” category and removing drivers (make sure to tick all the boxes when uninstalling)
  • Uninstalling “Realtek(R) Audio”, also doing windows restart just in case
  • Then going to Windows Update, check for updates and it should download drivers once again
  • Going back to “Realtek(R) Audio”, then “Update driver”, “Browse for drivers on my computer”, “Let me pick from a list...”, then select “Realtek High Definition Audio” and click next, it should update the driver

And after that my left speaker started working again. I assume that the issue might be some conflict of sound processing drivers, it just annoying that u buy a high end machine, and have to deal with all that stuff…

Anyways, let me know if anything here helped your problem, and hope u get it fixed!

Tur1le - when I go through this process, after checking for updates, the Windows update downloads, says it has failed, then refreshes my drivers and the Realtek driver is back, giving me no chance to install the driver I want. Do you know why this might be happening? To add, this is affecting both of my speakers, where the left one is completely silent after seconds of use and the right one is incredibly faint.

Hello, I have the same issue in my Razer Blade 15 2023 for past few days for both speakers (audio comes to complete silence). It is happening to my gf as well (same Razer Blade 15 2023) only with left speaker. The only thing that helps is restart, sometimes it helps for the rest is the day, other days I need to restart it multiple times.

I tried to reinstall the drivers, but it didn't seem to be a long term solution. It is incredibly annoying having this issue in laptop for this price.

It would be nice if Razer notice this, I'm happy to share whatever logs that might help to identify and fix the issue.

Hello,

Has anyone been able to resolve this issue? Just discovered this issue today and had the laptop close to a month now. Tried reinstalling the drivers but to no avail. Done it multiple times.
