SSD Compatibility

Good afternoon,

I own a Razer Blade 15 (2019) laptop (RZ09-0301). I recently had the SSD expanded to a Samsung 980 Pro PCle 4.0 NVMe M.2. I also upgraded my 16gb ram to 32gb (Kingston Fury, DDR4 3200MT/s). Since then, I have been experiencing freezing of my laptop.

The laptop does get incredibly hot. However, it never froze before the upgrades. The battery is slightly deformed hence why the replacement battery is coming.

Could this issue be attributed to the upgrades, or could it possibly be battery related? I have a new battery on its way.  Battery health attached below.

Any assistance or information would be greatly appreciated.

The NVME SSD could be a faulty unit which would possibly explain the lockups/freezes. There is an ICU Controller Chip on there that works with the Motherboard’s NVME Controller along with the OS to help with preventing those freezes and/or lockups and this exact part on the NVME is possibly bad/faulty.

Is there a way to check if it is a faulty motherboard?

if you can test the NVME in another computer and it does not produce any lockup/freezes, then your NVME port on ur motherboard may be going out
