I am installing a second SSD in my new Blade 16. There are three screws on the shield that covers the (lower) factory-installed boot SSD -- one near the connector, one that also retains the factory-installed boot SSD, and one in position to retain the second (upper) SSD once installed. There is, however, a small plastic o-ring around the third screw.
This ring does not appear to be a standoff (of the sort that holds my PS5 SSD level). In fact, it seems to PREVENT the second SSD from laying flush, and the drive secures without it. I am, however, wondering just what the heck it is in there for.
Can anybody running a two-SSD setup in the Blade 16 check to see if the ring is installed? Maybe it sits on top of the SSD once it is installed?
