Strange Battery issues on my Razor Blade Stealth | Razer Insider

I’ve been having some troubles with my laptop for a while now.   It is an early 2018 Razor Blade Stealth.   I Bought it new in January of 2018.

A long while ago, the charger started acting strange, presumably a short in the wire.   It would charge the laptop about 50% of the time. Unplugging and re-plugging seemed to resolve it.    After a while of this, I purchased a new charger, hoping to fix the problem, unfortunately, the problem persisted.   I did a bit of research on what else could be causing the issue and concluded it was a bad battery.   So, I ordered another battery and replaced it.  It still didn’t resolve the issue.

After that, I was out of ideas, and figured my charging ritual wasn’t too bothersome, so I continued on.    Unfortunately, the problem progressively got worse.    After a 2 months or so, both chargers wouldn’t charge my computer at all (They both work perfectly fine with other USB-C Laptops).   The only workaround was to physically disconnect the battery from the motherboard, plug the computer in, boot it up, then re-plug the battery.     Now, a few weeks later, this workaround is actively deteriorating as well, only effective about 50% of the time.

I know a fair bit about computers, but I am completely stumped.  If it’s a hardware issue, I don’t know what else could be causing it, the battery and charger have both been replaced.    As far software goes, I have uninstalled and reinstalled every driver pertaining to the charging system.   I’ve also formatted, and started fresh multiple times, to no avail.

Any advice on what could be causing this issue would be greatly appreciated.   I have really enjoyed using this laptop the years I have had it, it seems to have a lot of life still in it, I would hate to scrap it just because of a charging issue.

Thanks!
