I have the Razer Kaira X , and its been working perfectly fine on my old pc, even with surround sound, recently though it broke so i had to get a new one, which is the one I'm using right now. anyway when i tried setting up surround sound it doesn't work, or like, it shows in the audio list and when i pick it and play any game, song, or video i don't hear anything at all. I've tried everything from control panel > audio, updating my windows, updating my Nvidia graphics card, reinstalling 7,1 surround sound, and reinstalling all my audio drivers.. I don’t know what else to do please someone help! Oh right i forgot to include, I’ve also tried another razer headset which is black shark and they still didn't work, so I'm guessing its a problem on my hand not the headset, if anyone knows how to fix this or something then please tell me.

Hi soloCadmiumGreenside572,

I understand that you’re experiencing issues with setting up surround sound on your new PC using Razer Kaira X and another Razer headset, with no audio output. Please PM me your headset serial number  if the steps laid out below didn’t work.

  1. Open the Control Panel. There are two ways to do this:

    • Enter “control panel” in the search function.

      Search and Open Control Panel

    • Press “Windows key + R” keys on your keyboard then type “control panel” and click “OK”.

      Run Control Panel

  2. In the Control Panel, click on “Hardware and Sound”.

    Select Hardware and Sound

  3. Click “Sound”.

    Select Sound

  4. Check the properties of “7.1 Surround Sound” and your default output device.

    • 7.1 Surround Sound

      1. Select Speakers - 7.1 Surround Sound, then click on Properties.

      2. Click on the Advanced Tab.

Select Speakers - 7.1 Surround Sound and click on Properties

    • Default Output Device

      1. Select your default output device (Speakers – Realtek Audio), then click on Properties.

      2. Click on the Advanced Tab.

Select your default output device (Speakers – Realtek Audio) and click on Properties

  5. Click on the “Advanced” tab of the speaker properties.

  6. Ensure both 7.1 Surround Sound and the default output device have the same frequency (Hz) values under “Default Format”.

Ensure both 7.1 Surround Sound and the default output device have the same frequency (Hz) values under “Default Format”

Note: 7.1 Surround Sound can only support up to 48000 Hz, so your default output device should match it.

Your very low or no audio problem should be resolved. You should be able to hear your audio from your system.
