THIS WORKED FOR ME

Workaround Steps:

1. Delete the current profile or create a new one in Synapse.

2. Change the D-Pad setting from “4 directions” to “8 directions.”

3. Set the keyboard function for Up, Down, Left, Right (8-way).

4. Disable the 4 corner inputs from the 8-way configuration.

5. Once done, you should be able to set keyboard functions for the remaining 19 keys and the scroll.

Thats a giant chain of things to have to do everytime you restart your pc just to make it work.

Работает !

I don’t think it’s every time.
I think it’s once.

I’m having the same issue. Razer please fix!

What a mission, but yes it does work. Also, i noticed there was a problem with using the “key recording” keyboard function bindings on the D-Pad. Causes the issue to reappear for me as well. Try to only use alphanumeric, navigation, or modifier key bindings.

Yeah, got the same mail, and yes, it works, but now you can't move diagonally, which is, let’s just say, not ideal in a shooter….

This only works for me until I select anything other than the D-Pad to be mapped to another key, and then even if I reset that key to the default the D-Pad will not work unless I create a brand new profile.

This is consistent across both the 4-way and 8-way configurations for me.

Also noticed the no diagonal movement. Ended up making Macros for W+A, W+D, A+S, D+S, to go in the diaginal spots, (set them to no delay, trigger while pressed) it “works” but not perfectly like normal Dpad movement for sure. I do hope that Monday they put out a hotfix for Synapse 4.

Had the same issue:

Powered down my PC 2 days ago

Powered it up again yesterday and D-Pad was sending the default UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT key signals. No matter what I tried nothing worked.

Just found this thread today, created a new profile, switched to the “8 directions” setting. Disabled the diagonal D-Pad keys.

D-Pad now sends the keys I configure in Synapse 4 again.

Exact same thing happening to me.  The above (switch to 8-way) solution also only works until you switch profiles to something else for me.

So far going back to Synapse 3 has corrected the problem

Same here, I was able to get WASD mapped again using synapse 3, but no diagonal movement. Rolling the d pad to the left or right cancels the forward or rearward motion. This issue was present months ago and I can’t remember how it got resolved. Regardless, I switched to another product with a joystick instead of a dpad. I’ll keep the Tartarus as a backup for when they get this resolved.

Same problem here, will now try the 8-dir trick.
Also annoying, separate but similar problem: my key No 15, which i mapped to Q in severalgames, just started to act as “escape”… but i guess i should open a new thread for that :)

It does work, but as mentioned, diagonal movement needs another work-around. Guess after finishing the game and a good night of sleep i´ll save profiles and revert to Synapse 3.

Same problem for me.  The “switch to 8-way + disable diagonals” solution doesn’t work well if you use the thumbstick for movement.  You won’t get any diagonal movement and if you macro the diagonals any other key press while moving diagonal cancels your movement.

Going back to Synapse 3 fixed this problem completely.  However, other peripherals (like the Kraken Pro etc) don’t work as well on that version of Synapse.  In addition, they will stop support of Synapse 3 in January, so we’ll be screwed if this happens again or never even gets corrected.
