I’m having a very noticeable issue with the difference between using THX inside Razer Synapse 4 and using the THX Spatial Audio app as the primary audio device in Windows.
When I use the Kraken V4 Pro with THX through Synapse 4, the sound quality is amazing. It’s clean, full, and very pleasant to listen to. My EQ settings work exactly as expected, and everything sounds balanced.
But when I set THX Spatial Audio as the primary device in Windows, even if I copy the exact same EQ values, the audio becomes strange. It sounds thinner, less natural, and simply not enjoyable. The THX app does give a stronger sense of immersion, but the overall tone feels wrong, almost as if I’m using a completely different headset.
The difference gets even worse when haptics are enabled. With haptics on, it becomes extremely difficult to get anything close to the sound I get from THX inside Synapse. The balance between bass, vibration, and clarity changes a lot, and I can’t recreate the same “sweet spot” no matter what I try.
This is very noticeable when I’m playing Battlefield 6. The game detects the Kraken V4 Pro and automatically switches it to stereo which works perfectly, but doesn't fell that immersive. But when I choose Spatial Audio while using THX Spacial Audio APp, it switches to 7.1. The immersion is better, but the sound quality drops significantly compared to THX inside Synapse 4.
Right now I’m honestly confused about how these two THX versions are supposed to work and why they sound so different. I’ve searched everywhere, tested every combination of settings, and I still can’t find a solid solution.
When Synapse moved from version 3 to 4, it took me a long time to find the right EQ sweet spot, but eventually I did. This time, with Synapse THX versus the THX Spatial Audio app, especially with haptics involved, it feels almost impossible to match the sound quality".
I’ve been a Razer user for over 10 years, and even helped a friend who is a professional Dota player by buying him Razer gear after he had an accident. I’m saying this just to show how much trust and love I have for the brand (my family). I really want to understand what’s happening and hopefully help improve the experience for future users.
