Hello All,

 

I am experiencing an issue where the moment Razer Synapse launches, my Numpad 1 (Keypad 1 – VK_NUMPAD1, scan code 0x4F) stops registering input across all applications.

The top-row “1” key works normally.

The Numpad 1 key works correctly in all applications until Synapse is opened, at which point it immediately stops working.

I have confirmed:

  • No key bindings, macros, or Hypershift mappings are assigned
  • NumLock behavior does not affect the issue
  • The issue occurs across two different keyboards (Razer Ornata and Razer BlackWidow)
  • The issue occurs across two different PCs (Ryzen 7 / RTX 4070 and i9-10900 / RTX 4090)

Most importantly:

  • Terminating RazerAppEngine.exe immediately restores functionality of the Numpad 1 key

This suggests the issue is related to Synapse’s input handling rather than hardware or configuration.

Any guidance or fix would be appreciated.

Please bear with me for a bit. Have you already performed a clean uninstall and reinstall of your Synapse 4 by following the steps from this link? Can you also send me a PM with the serial number of your keyboard so I can verify it in our system and check for applicable workarounds that might address the input issue?
