Synapse won't detect Basilisk

I recently purchased a used basilisk from eBay. I was able to register the warranty so the serial number was recognized. I tried to connect to synapse 2 on my Mac but it would not detect the device even after updating, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling then for a short amount of time the Mouse was detected and a loading bar underneath it, one it was done loading it disappeared even when I unplugged the mouse and plugged it back in. nothing happened when I clicked on the icon either. I tried another computer this time a pc with synapse 2 and the mouse didn't event detect at all. don't really know what this means any ideas?
