As the title impllies when I mute my Mic with snyapse 4 open it cause the iunput volume to go to 0 however unmutting the mic doesnt bring it back up only munally increasing it works. This is a pain and makes the mute worthless. The problem only started happening on the 20/05/2026 and is affecting my black shark v2 pro 2023. Synaspse 4 is just problem after problem and its making me rethink my future razer purchasing deciusions due to how aful the software now is

Exact same symptoms that I’m having. Tried to pair headset again and do all kinds of things till I figured out what was happening.

I’m also having this issue on my Blackshark V2 Pro (2023) headset. It makes muting a pain to deal with, especially while gaming as you have to tab into Synapse and manually ramp up the mic volume.

This issue also has me considering ceasing using and buying razer products due to the many problems that arise from the software alone. Another thing issue I experience from the software is the inability to use the “Enhancements”. Through testing, they seem to not make a difference on my microphone whatsoever.

One way I believe I have found to fix this issue is to not use Razer Synapse. When Synapse is force closed, the headset and microphone seem to mute as intended.

Check the mic settings in Razer Synapse, I had this happen too and noticed in the headset settings under microphone the mic volume was set to zero. After setting it to 100 it fixed the issue

While it does work to restore input the second I mute again it defaults back to 0 unless I manually put it back on to 100. Does your stay even after muting and unmuting?

Yes!! I have Barracuda x Chroma and i am SICK to death of having my mic constantly mute. I could be in a gaming session with friends, and if i press the headset to temporarily mute myself and unmute, my input remains zero.

I have to go into razer synapse app and manually go in and turn my input up again. This is infuriating me! especially if i’m mid game!!! I have tried uninstalling razer synapse and it doesnt fix it. I’ve also tried trouble shooting based on both customer service feedback and also comments on threads like this (seems to be a few posts on reddit  too).

I didn’t spend this much money on a headset for this type of BS!!!

hopping in to say im having the exact same issue

uninstalled synapse which seemed to fix it for a bit but now the problem is back and i can’t fix it. whenever i use the mute button on my headset i then need to go into the windows input settings to put it back to 100 cause it just goes to 0 every time i press the button.

razer needs to fix this, its infuriating.

I noticed it turns the mic off when it goes to Zero and enables mute at the same time. Then when it removes mute the mic it still turned off essentially.

Same problem, current workaround I’ve found. Uninstall Synapse and also run the Razer Driver Cleanup Tool. Then instead of installing the current Synapse version install the BETA version. As long as your headset gets reinstalled from fresh it should work.

Only problem is that every time I shut down or restart my PC the problem returns. I then have to run both uninstalls and again but install the CURRENT Synapse version, not the Beta. Its a pain for sure but if I keep my PC in sleep mode instead it will stay working.

I have a laptop and a spare Black Shark V2 Pro. the laptop did not get forced to install the update on 5/20 and the headset has no issues. If i use the spare headset on the PC the problem persists. Absolutely a software issue.

Hope this helps ya’ll.

Uninstalling and reinstall isn’t a good solution if it has to be done every reboot. My work around it power on then off and back on so I can access the settings of the BXC and change the vol to 100 which then works as expected. For what ever reason, it’s not detected when first powered on but sees it the 2nd power on

But really, it shouldn’t be like this, it worked before just fine without changes and if it’s due to a faulty update, we should be able to roll back ( uninstall and reinstall the stable) and skip this version.

@Manujito I have Version 4.0. [removed by moderator] what version are you running because the previous update did not correct mine.

I think mine updated yesterday/today, I got version 4.0. [removed by moderator] :

If you look at the changelog, it is specifically mentioned in the fixes:

@Manujito I think that is it. For whatever reason mine has not updated past 04 June 2026.

@Manujito I attempted to remove Synapse 4 and ran the Driver cleanup script. Then I reinstalled the Beta and ended up on the same version I started with. For whatever reason I cannot download or update to the 9 June 2026 update. Only the 4 June 2026 update.

Srsly?

They fixed Barracuda and Barracuda Pro. Does Barracuda X Chroma dont have mute button or what?
X Chroma still have this issue even with just Razer Chroma installed, not even Synapse
