System not receiving "Adequate Power" | Razer Insider
Skip to main content

I have a razor 15 base model and when I go to put my laptop into gaming mode, I am unable to because synapse is telling me that the laptop is receiving inadequate power which is stunting my performance. I have no every changed charging adapters and my laptop came with a 180W adapter. I also checked my battery life and it is at 96 percent, and have noticed zero swelling. I was wondering what I can do to fix this inorder to get the maximum performance out of my laptop.

Just get 280 or 330. It's worked for me.

I will get the Ali express one

I will get the Ali express one

Quite a sketchy decision, as I showed. My plug started to act funny. I would recommend buying 330w from a different factory. The one that I have are struggling with build quality.

Tbh it may be your inside port. I actually broke my pins inside my razer blade had to buy an official port from ebay for like 70$ had a guy desolder it and fixed that issue. So I'll try but tbh as long as it works I'll fix it. If this fixes the performance issue I'm selling this razer blade lmao

6K fu*king garbage

I don’t have any issues with original plug so it’s 100% brick plug, not my port.

I know how to solder stuff, but I can’t open the plug. It’s sealed, otherwise, I have to ruin the plug. Even visually I see that the original plug has a bit tighter holes. But luckily I have my LAN port occupied so I can use the LAN plug as a tentioner. I hope everybody who will read this thread will not face same issue but becase my laptop are my desctop replacement I’m not moving it a lot, and if I travel most likley I will take a small 230W brick.

Same thing here, synapse updated today and I started to get this message.  I read on Reddit a few people started getting the message after updating on other models several months ago “https://www.reddit.com/r/razer/comments/x7grag/error_the_system_is_not_receiving_adequate_power/”  So I’m uninstalling Synapse until I see a fix. Windows lets me put the system on high performance from Balanced the old way, without their software.  Seems to be a software issue.

Mee too bro i was thinking that i have something wrong but it's the software . Do have any solution or they fix it or not yet ?

UPDATE:

So I have been fighting this for months now and Razer had me send my computer into them. At first they said I needed to pay for the parts but they would cover the labor charges. So I sent it in to them and didn’t hear anything back for two weeks, then I get notice that it is shipping back to me and they looked everything over and that it was a battery issue. Now my battery never had any issues and it was always at 95-100% with now pillowing but they said they replaced it free of charge and that it was good to go now.

Once  I got the PC back I logged in and let all the updates run and ran a userbenchmark which came out to the PC running at 25% of what it should be. Then with another update of Cortex it started popping up with the System not receiving "Adequate Power" error once again. At this point I am just done they don’t seem to give a flying F about their products.

This is a bigger issue than most think because there are more people that have the problem but they don’t run benchmarks to see that their processor and GPU are running at base level power.

Dear Razer support team !

You god damn imbeciles. There are hundreds if not thousands of people with very expensive laptops from you, who can´t use them appropriatly, because of your own software having issues delivering enough power to the system.

It is definitly a software issue. People all over the world already tried, changing the battery, power bricks etc. That´s not the issue but the software.

Do something, for fucks sake!

Just wanted to say Hi as Im having the same power problem with my 2021 Blade 14. I tried so many things to solve this issue - as you know, nothing helped yet.

I checked with an other 230W adapter that didnt change anything. So Ill have a look at those bigger bricks. Ill keep you posted.

Cheers!

Hell no!

They were trying to help me, mostly software things. Dont know yet, what next support level can do, but I guess Ill have to wait.

Besides, I got my fingers on the 330W power brick - same issue, system not receiving enough power.

Just to let people know. In the end I sent my Razer Blade 18 in to them for repair. They said it’s fixed and will be shipped back to me soon. When I asked what the cause was they said “the issue with the SSD was due to overheating”

doesn’t make sense to me I suspect they meant to say “the issue with laptop” so when I get it back I’ll test if it’s fixed and then if yes I’ll probably buy a cooling stand for it to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

if it’s not fixed upon return I’ll send it back with a demand they either resolve it completely, give a refund or give me a working replacement.

So i understand that the issue form the software beacause since i bought the laptop this issue come amd i don't know the solution i contact razer support but they didn't do nothing so ho did the factory reset ? And did the issue solve it or not?

2021 Razer Blade 15 Base

Here to post that I’ve “not been receiving adequate power” for a little over a year, as well. I’ve replaced the battery (due to it bloating >.>), bought 3 separate adapters: 1 official razer  230W and two off-brand 230W chargers off Amazon (because I’m a fool). Nothing has improved and what’s worse is that I can’t even use apps like Afterburner or Throttlestop because all of the options are greyed out/locked.

The BIOS on this device is absolute shit as it’s got bare minimum options to tinker around with and Razer hasn’t placed any update nor even a link to the original firmware to attempt to fix on that end. I have found solace in knowing I’m not alone with this issue.

Seriously considering meeting w/ an attorney to explore bringing a product liability lawsuit against this company. Whether it be the bloating battery issue or the software throttling that many of us seem to be seeing. Quite reminiscent of the Apple “BatteryGate” issue. Hell, if enough people are affected and if this is something that spans across multiple Blade devices, there may even be grounds for a class action.

Note to anyone buying Razer products: BEWARE.

My 2020 Blade 15 Advanced just had this error pop up for the first time.  My power adapter is completely fine.  Must be a software thing.

FIX IT, RAZER!!!

All laptops from razer after 2022 were shipped with 280w and 330w. Software now are written for those bricks and giving error if it's less than 280W. This is what I figured out. 230W brick are out of the game and razer want you to buy a new one. That's it.

If I buy a 280w will it work for my 2021 Blade Advance ? I am having major issues now My 240w that my laptop came with isn’t cutting it!

I was one of the first who started this thread. So what I did now. I managed to put my power plug under the pressure, under the land cable and I have a boost mode now. So probably brick with higher votlage should fix the Isssue. Because I have cheap 100 bucks brick and my fans are ripping now. So probably it's not the best solution to buy a fake brick but it gets the job done. The problem is the build quality. The plug is too hot now but I'm getting 150w on GPU.

Make the photo of funky UI of Synapse will look strange for you. I just entered the Synapse beta group. Just want to tell you right away that this is not the case, the only difference I've noticed that there is smart battery health settings are missing. Original brick still was giving power error.

Curious, if functioning properly should there be a gaming permormance mode option as well when plugged in?

How did you fix this issue and when did you get the beta version.i have been searching for solution for couple months . Can you help or text me?

same thing happend on my razer blade 17 2021. im get into the beta group and see what going on,and i brought a brand new 230w oem charger, still same . are u fk seriously razer?

I’m getting the same bizarre error. After updating Synapse, it still comes up with the same error but now the battery is slowly loosing power even though its plugged it. This screenshot was from the laptop plugged in to a monitor. Notice the bottom right.

This is going even deeper than we realize:

Okay so after getting my Laptop back from Razer the service notes say they replaced the Screen and the Ram to fix the issue. Alas the issue was not fixed when I booted it up but it does seem to be fixed when I installed the new Synapse Open Beta.

I’ve restarted a couple times and the fix seems to have stuck so far. Not sure if the Open Beta simply makes the error go away without solving the underlying cause or if it actually resolved the issue but so long as I can play on Performance modes I’m happy.

Guys, good news so These days I was looking for a solution for this issue and i have somethings to tell you the problem obviously is in synapse 3 because when i download the synapse beta the issue is disappear so i can costum my cpu and gpu without any problem or something else so our laptops are good and thanks
