System sound not playing, instead goes to headset mic

I have a razer kraken headset. I use the 7.1 surround sound software and i am 100 percent sure that is what causes this issue. If i just use my normal headset as the output device, the system sound is there. whenever i use 7.1 surround sound as output device, it is completely quiet in system audio. also, my headset mic used to always play any audio from my pc into the mic so my friends would here every single thing. it broke recently though so i started using my webcam mic but theres still no system audio. by the way, to test my system audio i used  geforce experience with separate audio tracks, created a replay, opened using vlc media player, and tested each audio track. how do i fix this? i gaurantee its a problem with 7.1 surround sound. i cant live without it though because my audio sounds terrible without it. i tried everything like disabling and enabling input and output devices, audio mixers, all of it. nothing as seemed to work ever. only option where everything works as normal is using my headset as audio device and any input device. (headset always picks up desktop audio tho, never fixed that.)
