Product Details:
-
Headset Model: Razer Barracuda X (RZ04-04430100)
-
Dongle Model: RC30-0378
Description of the Issue: My headset started malfunctioning after it went out of wireless range during use. Since then, the headset fails to connect properly to the dongle and defaults into a broken Bluetooth loop:
-
Dongle Unresponsiveness: The USB dongle (RC30-0378) is no longer recognized by Windows. It does not appear in Device Manager at all (even after scanning for hardware changes).
-
Bluetooth Connection Delays & Disconnects: When trying to use Bluetooth, the headset takes around 30 seconds to establish a connection, and then continuously disconnects every 30 minutes during active use.
Troubleshooting Already Attempted (No Success):
-
Rebooted the PC multiple times.
-
Attempted to run the official Razer Firmware Updater (fails because the dongle/headset is not detected properly).
-
Attempted to re-pair using the official Razer Audio Pairing Utility.
-
Tested connecting the headset to other Bluetooth devices (same 30-minute disconnect behavior occurs).
-
Removed drivers from Device Manager; the dongle now fails to appear or reinstall altogether.
Since none of the software utilities or standard reset procedures have restored functionality to the dongle or stabilized the Bluetooth connection, I believe this is a hardware failure or corrupt onboard firmware.
Thank you.
