The reset point is wrong in Huntsman V3 Pro (w/wo Rapid Trigger) | Razer Insider

I just bought my Huntsman V3 Pro, and I love this keyboard 🐈 (although the only bad thing is the sound is a little bit loud 🔊). After using it for a few hours, I noticed a serious problem quickly.

No matter what is the value for the actuation point, the reset point will always be 0mm. The reset point is supposed to have the same or near value of the actuation point, activate when pressed through it and deactivate when lifted through the same place.

For example, if I set the actuation point to 1.8mm, no matter how deep I pressed the key, 2mm or 4mm, I need to release the key to 0mm instead of 1.8mm in order to reset it (⚪white bar). Even a 0.1mm little pressure (🟢green bar) from finger touching the key will cause the key not responding to the next keypress because it is still not yet reset (⚪white bar).

Fortunately, the Rapid Trigger function does help to solve this problem a little bit, temporarily. I don't need to worry about the 0.1mm pressure or the 0mm reset point, since it reset the key base on how much my finger lift. However, the reset point is still wrong. Continuing the previous example, let's say 1.8mm actuation point and 0.8mm sensitivity for Rapid Trigger. If I pressed down the key to 2.2mm (🟢green bar), I am able to reset the key at 1.4mm (🔴red bar) due to Rapid Trigger. But unable to reset the key at 1.8mm (⚪white bar) since the original reset point is still 0mm.

Now I have to enable Rapid Trigger on all the keys to achieve more normal likely behavior, and it is rather unusable without Rapid Trigger, unless I always make sure my fingers are not giving any pressure to the keys anymore after a keypress.

Both my Synapse 3 and keyboard's firmware are the latest versions already.

I think this is not a hardware problem when the switches can physically detect the pressure from 0mm to 4mm accurately, only weird reset point.

Some other users also reported the same problem.

As other users said, the user experience without Rapid Trigger is even worse than a normal red linear switch keyboard when the reset point is 0mm fixed.

It should be an easy fix by firmware update as it is not a hardware problem but more like a bug. Simply make the default reset point to the same value of the actuation point, or -0.1mm / -0.2mm relatively.

I hope this will be fixed as soon as possible although currently I can use Rapid Trigger to cancel out this problem a little bit. 🙏

I’d post a screenshot with my reply to this thread, but Razer’s insider website bugged when i was trying to log in on my PC and now my I can’t view any webpages without getting ‘Something has gone wrong’

However i’m also immediately struggling with this issue upon buying this keyboard, I really would hope there’d be a setting for releasing keypress upon reaching the actuation point on the way up (on release) i immediately noticed this while playing all of my favorite games because of the sensitivity of the keys. this absolutely needs to be addressed. I honestly really want to return this keyboard if this doesnt get fixed soon
