Thunderbolt Ethernet Question

I am looking at buying the Razer thunderbolt for my new Razer 15 laptop. I have a question about the ethernet connection. I gather you can plug the ethernet cable into the dock, and I understand you connect the thunderbolt to the laptop via a USB C connection. Does the ethernet connection to the dock substitute for a direct connection to the computer, and is it as fast as a direct connection, or do you lose speed when you connect to the ethernet thru the dock? Would you recommend a direct connection to the laptop, or is it just fine to hook the ethernet to the dock/ Thank you!

The Razer Thunderbolt 4 Dock Chroma should work with the laptop including its ethernet as long as the units have the 11th Gen Tiger Lake CPU processors and a Thunderbolt 4 port. This includes all Razer Blade models with Thunder™ 4 or 3 connections. Please check the article below for more details:
