Thx Spatial Audio after Pc Upgrade

I have been wondering ever since I just got my thx spatial audio. I was curious that if I were to rebuild my pc, would I lose access to my thx spatial because the drives could not be detected or something like that? I was just worry about spending an extra 20 buck just for another activation code.
