Turn off Lights when PC is Shut down on Charging Pad Chroma? | Razer Insider

Aloha I recently bought a Charging Pad Chroma. After I had some trouble with the old firmware and the pad not getting recognised as a device after restarting I updated the firmware via the Razer website. Sadly Synapse was not doing that. So I remember before updating that the pad turned its lights completely off after shutting down my pc. There was no lightning effects even when charging.

Now after the firmware update it still breathes with green light after shutdown of my PC. It also shows my light setting when I charge my phone. I have searched Synapse for a setting to turn it off completely but didn’t find any.

Anyone know how I can turn off light effects when my PC is shut down at night for example?

Check in different port (that doesn’t have any power always on option enabled) or check in BIOS settings for this function to disable it.

So what you are suggesting is to turn off the possibility to charge something when I have my PC turned off. For a charging pad. Where I want to charge my phone or my mouse at night while I am not using them.

And I have to go into my BIOS settings for that.

Isn’t that defeating the whole purpose of the device?

So Razer Support on Reddit suggested this solution:

Please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to your Windows “Device Manager” and click the "+" sign next to Universal Serial Bus Controllers. Click on “Razer Charging Pad Chroma” and select “Properties.”

  2. Click the Power Management tab and ensure that “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power” and proceed to do this under each Root Hub.

  3. From the Control Panel and Power Options, select the Hibernation Tab and deselect “Enable hibernate support“.

Which didn’t solve the problem for me. But maybe it helps someone else.

Still disappointed that this seems to be an expected behaviour according to another thread about the Razer Mouse Dock Pro. Looks like it won’t be solved even at one of their top product line.
