Unable to download recovery image

I am trying to download a recovery image, but the site is telling me to register my product.  I did that already, but I tried again anyway.  Of course it is telling me the product is already registered.  I then went to try to contact Razer to ask what to do, but their contact form just brings me back to the download page so I’m at the beginning of the loop again.

Anyone know how to get around this?

Same issue here! I've reached out to support but no reply yet.

Is it an older laptop? Pre 2017 I mean?

You could just download Windows from Microsoft and do the install. Before you do, go to Device Manager and find out what wireless network card you have. Then get that driver from Intel.com before you start, just in case the Microsoft image doesnt have the right driver and you are stuck without internet access after the build. Then just install Windows, run the Intel installer you downloaded earlier and copied to a USB drive, then grab Synapse from Razer to re-install the rest of your devices.

I can't speak for @Comnenus but mine is a 2021 Razer Blade with the 3070. It's registered but I'm not able to download the recover image as described in the original post.

Okay, that's a new one! Do you get to the point I got to in the image attached? Mine was definitely registered, so I am guessing there's an issue with the website. Hopefully one of the Razer guys will register an issue, or you could wait for support. If its urgent, you can just do the manual build with an image from Microsoft. It doesn't take too long to do, just make sure you have the network driver before you start!

Yes that's exactly what happens to me! Hopefully they see this and fix it. When you say build from a Microsoft image, what will I have to do? I know in the past I've had lots of driver problems from installing stock. It's it just the wifi drivers? Thanks for your help!

You can just go to this link and get the Windows 11 image. Create a bootable USB with it (it will do it for you). Once media creation is done, you can put your downloaded Wi-Fi driver onto the same USB drive. Use Device Manager to find out which device you have. I have the Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX210 in mine. Open Intel's website and head to the support section to get the drivers. Then just reboot your laptop; you will need to select the USB device to boot off however. This article will show you how to do that. Then just follow the Windows install prompts. Once its finally complete and you can get to your desktop. Run the Intel install you downloaded earlier. Once your Wi-Fi drivers are installed, you will be able to connect to your Wi-Fi again. You can then head to Razer and get Synapse, which will update and install missing drivers.

I usually minimise my system while doing the Windows install - so remove all USB devices like mouse, headsets, hubs, etc. and just use the laptops trackpad and keyboard. Once Synapse is installed, start plugging in each  external device again.

I re-installed mine from stock Windows 10 last year and it runs perfectly. But I did need the Wi-Fi drivers! You may be fine if you do Windows 11 instead. Just pays to be prepared!

Sorry, forgot the very first link! Go here

Wireless drivers beforehand on a USB drive is useful. I also recommend getting a USB-A/USB-C to ethernet adapter just in case there is a problem installing wireless drivers. It’s something everyone should have anyway to get best speeds and least latency or fallback in case of wireless issue to allow troubleshooting.

Alternatively can clean install using Microsoft’s own tool, it can create bootable USB for you. It will activate Windows using your OEM product key already built in. Boot from USB, delete all paritions and clean install over. Run all the windows updates completed before doing your own apps.

@mjcouchman I get to that page, hit submit, and it tells me to register.  Then I click the link to register, and it says I already registered.

I’m on a new Razer Blade 16, I wanted to do this before I needed it.  How do I actually email a person?  The Razer support portal really, really, really wants to push me to self help.

You need to visit this link: https://mysupport.razer.com. Should you get the support landing page, select Software, Synapse, and select the Submit a case option from the list.

I ended up filing a ticket with support and they gave me a link to download the recovery image.

Thanks everybody!

That’s great to hear, Comnenus! Feel free to post another thread or send me a ping should you need additional assistance. I’ll be locking this thread now.
