unable to use laptop Fn key functions - BlackWidow V3, Lenovo Thinkpad

I’m not sure how to search for this.

I have a full sized Blackwidow V3, ISO format. I am unable to use my laptop Fn keys for their functional behaviours (brightness, etc) because FN is defacto remapped to Hypershift, and it is not possible to reassign the Fn function to any other keys. I even have spare keys (yay ISO). 

How do I get around this? How can I get my brightness keys back? What am I missing?

uh, I make stuff.

Laptop FN will only work on laptop keyboard, and BlackWidow FN will only work on BlackWidow.

Yes, that’s true FN cannot be unassigned (unfortunately), and it’s bound to Hypershift function, but you can bind Hypershift to some other key too.
