Update 24th April Synapse 3.0 NUKED the Barracuda Pro

The options for THX, movie, music or game modes, and individual apps are not possible anymore! got removed in synapse 3.0 from the Barracuda Pro after this new update even, but the Nari Ultimate still works. But this update nuked the Barracuda Pro. This is «unaceptable please effing fix this. I bouyght this for the ANC but i will refund fast if no fix. Roll back is not even an option because you need conection and no matter the synapse version you install it always updates to the current one.

That is really disappointing that such mistake could happen to a brand like razer…. 

Hoping on a quick fix for this mishap is the only thing…. :/

There is a new Synapse Version out there, Razer Support promised that there is a fix for the Barracuda Pro… 

It changed nothing….

Got an email today that “now” a new version of synapse is released and i may check for any updates. 

I am still runing the “newest” version of synapse (3.8.428.42117). The promised version 3.8.531.52615 will hopefully be available soon….

I like many others in this thread have the exact same issue of the THX Not working in synapse,i even contacted there support,who were of next to useless to me,gave me the usual runaround of sending the logs to them etc,sent the logs off that was about 1 and a half months ago,so i wouldn’t hold my breath waiting on a reply,then they closed my ticket even my reddit chat with support as well was closed.Just plain ignorance,considering the cost of this headset,it is just beyond ridiculous to be treated the way we are all being treated here.They do forget that if we stop buying there products well business will go downhill pretty fast.You always keep the customer happy to have a success in business,seems like they only want our money,then we are left hanging with partially working or even broken products.What i did read somewhere on the forums here was support had advised NOT to update the firmware on the barracuda pros apparently a member who hadnt updated the firmware on these had everything all correct and working.But then you also have the issue of if you don’t update the firmware will they actually be picked up and work,i honestly don’t know,they need to fix this and they need to do it now.

First of all please let me thank you for advising that an update has been released.So to add to that i completely uninstalled and reinstalled synapse 3,even used the razer cleanup tool-NO SUCCESS. Still the same options don’t show up in the THX Area of the barracuda pro,yes there seems to be an update 06.06.2023 but the version it installs is completely the same (3.8.428.42117) Not the newer version (3.8.531.52615) that was promised from Razer.I have attached the images showing the versions etc and still the same issue that remains,this is on a clean install of windows 10 also.Once again thank you for the heads up and thank you for your help it really is appreciated greatly.Thank you.

It might be possible that the rollout of updates is splitted in regions….

Wow I thought razer was trying to be helpful and I was the only one with this issue, they did the same with me, Logs and all that. If they are aware of the issue why asking customers to send logs and all that stuff, I guess paying the price of buying razer products is paying in dollars plus with your frustration too. So disappointed after seeing this post, I thought I was alone and they were trying to help fix it for me. I still have not received this last update. I even asked for a direct link so I can download the bloody think but nope. Gotta wait. Have been waited since I bought Barracuda Pro, what a great experience I have with it. I did not expect that from razer tbh.

To be perfectly honest it doesnt really surprise me what is happening here with the usual upload your logs routine and all the other stuff,I can confirm though that the latest update does fix the THX issue and hopefully you get that soon.They seem to be rolling it out in stages.

So… THX Spatial Audio is working now but i noticed that the EQ settings (bass boost, audio normalizing and “some quality”) are not working anymore or they turn off randomly … xD Can anybody confirm this issue?

Yes i can confirm that is happening,The THX Part is working as it should,but the EQ settings etc you have to switch them on manually every time you turn your headset on or off from a cold boot.Also you have to manually turn on THX As well it seems like its not remembering the settings.Apart from that it is working but seems a bit buggy still.

Same here, Razer is now pissing me off, can't use base boost which was my favorite thing to use. Bunch of incompetent programmers

But even moving the slider of these EQ settings are without any effect as it should to be.

I think that THX is also already active on first start/boot but if I switch to the THX options, get the visual feeling this it is just starting.

Funnily enough i didn’t try moving the EQ Sliders,thank you for bringing that up,in that case that is probably another thing going on.Yeah i agree with you about the Autumn fix it has took them way over a month to even get to this stage just to get the THX working in general.Thank you for you input and hope they finally get all this mess fixed up soon.

Yes i have to agree there is something defintiely wrong with the programmers,makes you wonder if they are playing one big guess and try game to see if things work or not.

I have same problems…. Bass boost doesnt work, sound normalization, voice clarity or THX Spatial… NOTHING WORKS!

 

It even doesn’t remember if bass boost was turned off or off in synapse. It’s been happening for months! This drives me nuts, either I’ll rma it or just go with a different company all together because this is UNACCEPTABLE for top shelf item to be nuked by software update.

Strangely enough at random i have the same issue as you,sometimes i have to turn the headset on and off twice for it to pick up the headset,and to add to things again at random it keeps asking you to update the firmware on these and there is no firmware update available,i agree this should not be happening with a premium headset like this just goes to show you ,they don’t actually care about there customers here.
