Use of Huntsman v2 and DeathAdder with a USB switch

I am on my second USB 3.0 switch and it is still problematic. I am just trying to use one keyboard and mouse with 2 PCs (one laptop and one desktop) and it isn’t going well. Should I not be able to use these peripherals with a USB switch? Is there a model/brand I can use?
