Hi everyone,
My Razer Viper Ultimate's wireless dongle has started disconnecting and reconnecting approximately every 1 second in a continuous loop. The mouse is completely unusable in wireless mode, though it works perfectly fine when connected via cable.
Issue details:
- The dongle connects and disconnects in a ~1s cycle (constant Windows USB plug/unplug sound)
- Wired mode works flawlessly
- Razer Synapse intermittently detects/loses the mouse
What I've tried (none worked):
- Plugged the dongle directly into rear motherboard USB ports (both 2.0 and 3.0)
- Removed dongle from the charging dock, plugged directly into PC
- Clean reinstall of Razer Synapse (tried both 3 and 4)
- Uninstalled USB drivers in Device Manager and let Windows reinstall
- Tested on a completely different PC — same issue
- Mouse is fully charged
- Changed "Wireless Power Saving" to 5 mins (not 0)
- Disabled USB Selective Suspend in Windows power settings
- Attempted firmware update — fails because dongle won't stay connected long enough
System:
- Windows 11 23H2
- Razer Synapse 4 (also tried 3)
- Latest firmware (prior to this issue)
Since the issue persists across different PCs, I suspect the dongle itself may be defective. My questions:
- Are there any other troubleshooting steps I can try?
- Is it possible to purchase a replacement dongle from Razer?
- Can the Razer Pairing Utility help if the dongle won't stay connected?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
