Viper V3 HyperSpeed sensor issue

I’ve had my Viper V3 HS for over 2 months now. All of a sudden, picking up the mouse and putting it back down causes a delay (about 500ms) before the sensor works again. There’s a random chance that the delay doesn’t happen - but it happens almost every time. I’ve tried:

Plugging the USB in a different port

Cleaning the sensor using lint-free cloth

Cleaning the skates with isopropyl alcohol and lint-free cloth (I didn’t use the alcohol on the sensor)

Uninstalling drivers for the mouse in Device Manager

So far, cleaning the sensor with lint-free cloth only temporarily fixes it; the issue comes back after a few minutes.

Hello autoYankeesBlueside534,

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your Razer Viper V3 HyperSpeed related to sensor functionality. Specifically, it seems there's a delay in responsiveness when picking up and then putting down the mouse. To isolate the problem, please try the steps below:

  1. Try using the mouse on different surfaces, like a mousepad or a desk.
  2. Plug it into a different USB port to see if that helps.
  3. Go to Device Manager, uninstall the mouse driver, and restart your computer.
  4. Look in the Razer software to change polling rate and DPI settings.
  5. If you can, try to configure the Advanced Lift-off/Landing distance customization, follow these steps:
    a. Install Razer Synapse. See How to install Razer Synapse for more details.
    b. Select the mouse from the Dashboard.
    c. Go to Calibration > Smart Tracking.
    d. Drag the slider to the preferred distance setting.

If you need further assistance, PM me with your device's serial number so I can verify its model and provide other workarounds. Have a great day!
