Viper V3 Pro Dongle NOT updating firmware | Razer Insider
Skip to main content

hello, ive been trying to update my wireless dongle to the latest firmware, and it keeps failing for some reason. im able to update the mouse alone, but not the dongle.

When updating firmware with the firmware update utility I always go with the first option which does the dongle and the mouse. Perhaps the dongle is already on the latest firmware if it says no action needed/up to date already. When I bought my DeathAdder V3 Pro White a little over a week ago, the dongle was already at the latest firmware but the mouse was not so I only had to plug in the USB cord to update the mouse directly.

currently on 1.01.00

You need to run the updater program as an Admin and disable any/all 3rd party antivirus software temporarily to update the dongle. That should do the trick hopefully!

just tried running it as admin and disabled everything and still failed to update :/

Dongle may be faulty then… not sure if its easy for you to do so but try to go exchange units at the retailer if anymore are in stock at your spot or just exchange it for a DeathAdder V3 Pro instead if no Vipers are avail, u cant go wrong with the DeathAdders

Hi jomesguava,

Let me assist you further with your Razer Viper V3 Pro firmware update issue. Was there any pop-up message when you clicked the update button to proceed? Please fully charge and connect your mouse directly to the USB port. Please make sure to follow the steps here. If the same problem persists, send me your device serial number so I can check for other workarounds.
