Viper V3 Pro Not working with Hyperpolling Wireless fongle | Razer Insider
Skip to main content

Hi,

I last week I got a Viper V3 pro used (It was returned to the store (I think they have like 30 day return policy)). It was also missing it HyperPolling Wreless Dongle. Thus I bought one. Today the dongle arrived in mail. I tried to connect and pair the devices with no luck. After troubleshooting for a while here are the things I have tried.

I updated the firmware of the dongle with HyperPollingDeviceFirmwareUpdater from Razers website. This was able to detect the dongle and update, but after the dongle update when it was time to update the mouse it did not detect the mouse.
I updated the mouse with ViperV3Pro_00C100C0_FirmwareUpdater. I first used the “just mouse” update option since backthen I did not have the dongle, but now with the dongle I tried to mouse and dongle option but it did not detect the dongle.
Since both devices show up in synapse (different wires ofc) I tried the pair device utility under the hyperpolling dongle which did not detect the mouse. I tried all the tips the software gave me and some tricks I found from comments in the internet but nothing worked. I reinstalled synapse, no luck.
I found a MousePairingUtility from razer and tried that. It detected my mouse but not the dongle.

So nothing worked, and nothing seemed to suggest that one device would be solely responssible for these faults. Dongle updater detected dongle, but not the mouse; mouse updater detected mouse, but not dongle; pairing utility detected mouse, but not the dongle; synapse detected both, but the pairin utility there didn’t detect mouse.
If the problem would be consistently with the mouse I could just take the loss on the chin and accept that purchasing store returned stuff might not always work out, but I see no reason why half of the time the dongle is not being detected.

If there is something I could still try I would love to know, but I am out of ideas. I would love to get this Viper working wirelessly. Thanks for all suggestions.

Some more info: I have turned the pc off and on again, the mouse works just fine while wired. The dongle does not have a light on the led indicator. Not sure if it should since it wont pair to anything.

Have you tried using the Mouse Pairing Utility to get it to pair up with the normal dongle? That is what you need to do to get it to work wirelessly.

I was not aware I should also have a normal dongle. Viper v3 Pro does not mention normal dongle in the box neither does the manual. So if it not mentioned in the “What’s inside” of the box and not mentiond as required in the manual or the box, would it help? Should I get one?
The mouse is the Viper V3 Pro
I think I might have figured out the problem:

Q: Does the Razer Viper V3 Pro pair with the HyperPolling dongle purchased from Razer Store?

A: “No. The Razer Viper V3 Pro only pairs with the HyperPolling dongle that comes with it.”

This explanes my issues. But also makes me want to question why do the HyperPolling dongles have the same name if they are not the same device.

Anyways if anyone has any other idea I would love to hear.

Yea it seems like that the Viper V3 Pro has a lot of unresolved issues sadly… good thing I went with the DeathAdder V3 Pro instead, much more reliable and far fewer issues

Hi Elmex,

Please make sure to Pair the Razer Viper V3 Pro with its included dongle, as it's incompatible with others. About your concern, the HyperPolling dongle manufacturers often use branding and naming conventions to create a sense of unity and coherence among their products. In the case of the HyperPolling dongles, even though they are not identical devices, they likely share some common design elements, technology, or intended use that link them together as part of a product line. If your still having issue connecting the mouse HyperPolling dongle, please feel free to PM me your device serial numner and proof of prucahse so I can check for replacement options. All the best!
