Volume razer thresher not changeable with windows 10

I just bought the razer thresher 7.1 for xbox (using it on windows with the wirelerss adapter). everythings works fine but when I slide the windows volume slider the volume doesnt change. When I turn the headset on and of the volume I set in windows does change (so if I want to change the volume I would have to turn the headset off and off everytime I want to change the volume). what is even weirder is the fact that I CAN change the volume of induvidual programs using the volume mixer. I appreciate any help I can get
